ASSIGNMENT N° 7

Access

Date Due: December 14, 1999

There are some things worth reminding you about naming conventions:

For example, assume you have a database for this course, and design a query that provides the names of the students who passed the course. An example of a name that complies with all of the above would be: PassStudents. Note that I omitted the word course in this case, because I am assuming the database is for the course (hypothetical example!). Access accepts spaces between names, but the company for which you work might not.

CASE 1 A1.24 – Ashbrook Mall Information Desk

Follow instructions (except for printing, which is not required as you already know!) on the book (Text 2), In addition (or instead, depending on the case), do the following:

Step 4 – The query results must be ordered by Extension in ascending order.

Step 5 – Do save your form!

Step 6 – Add a meaningful title to this report (Store doesn't really explain what the report contains!). In addition, make the name of the company appear on the top of each page (hint: use a label). Choose a color, font, alignment, etc. that goes with the report style. Do save your report!

Step 7 – Do not exit the database, as you will be needing it to solve the next case.

CASE 1 A2.30 – Ashbrook Mall Information Desk

Follow instructions (except for printing, which is not required as you already know!) on the book (Text 2), In addition, do the following:

Step 7 – Do not delete the ExperienceReq field.

Step 9 – No experience is required for position 10034 or 10046.

Step 12 – Design a query that shows which positions have more than one employee, accounting for all the stores. Show only the name of the position. Make sure your answer appears in alphabetical order by position

Step 13 – Which stores have more than one employee? Show the store name and the number of employees it has. This column must be called "Number of Employees".

Step 14 – Email the URL of your assignment (see Assignment Drop Box).
